What Kind of World Do You Want? (Non MMU)
As the mother of a child on the Autism Spectrum. This video moved me to tears. We were fortunate that Zack was diagnosed at 18 months & received services. He is a different child & we expect him to enter school this year with his peers. We STILL have to fight with the school district & others to get him the help he needs & deserves. Most children are diagnosed much later. After age 3 their chances of receiving any kind of services decreases dramatically & insurance companies refuse to pay for their treatmemt.
Each time this video is viewed a donation is made to AutismSpeaks. (I have verified this is true on Snopes.com)

Awww, this really touched my heart too. I've been around some children with autism and I know it must be so hard, trying to get all the resources possible. They are so sweet, just like any other child..just in a different way. There is a link I'll share. It's from a HomeSchooling community, but there are several gals on there with special needs, including autism. It may be of some help, to at least lurk around and read about what other parents are doing. The special needs section: http://vegsource.com/homeschool/special/index.html . My daughter had speech delays and it helped me a lot!
the main index page is: http://vegsource.com/homeschool/ It is a vegan/vegitarian board, but most of the people aren't vegan or vegitarians...so, don't worry. It's just a very helpful community. I'll look up my other resources and see if I can find anything else that may help. Also, they have a swap board where you can purchase or trade several gently used items. =)
*Huge Hugs* If there's any other way I can possibly help, I am here. So ask away. I don't have an autistic child, but I'm pretty darn good at researching.
Please lmk as soon as you have the 2oz okay :)! Thanks Lisa.
This subject is close to my heart. My husband was a Special Education teacher who in the last few years of his life worked with adults with various levels of Autism. This was his heart and soul and I commend him, the families of children with autism and the children themselves. I hope you will always have individuals cross your path that are there at the right time for Zach. He has to be a special light in your life. God Bless you and your family .
